Sorry if this is a bit of an old chestnut.
The door lock button on the front passenger door of my Omega rattles and it is very annoying!
Yes I know I could just turn the stereo up a bit more....
I read somewhere that these buttons are held on by a grub screw and that the door card has to come off to get to it to tighten it up - is this true?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Yes, me too - My driver door one is rattling and it's doing my head in >:(

Seems to be a problem with the latest models...
I solved mine by taking off the knob ( you can carefully prise off the red tab and it comes loose) and put some black electricians tape on the lower part of the knob, just so, that it is not visible when the knob is up. Cured the rattle and has been silent for four years now... :y
You do not need to take the door card off :y

Thanks for that kcl, I'll try it this afternoon.
Looks more like the sort of solution I was looking for. Removing the door card seemed a lot of work for a little, but irritating, problem like this!
I'll let you know how it goes!

It's dead easy, just be careful prising off the red part, a really small screwdriver or similar works. And you can try the needed thickness of tape by trying two layers and adding if needed.

I put aluminum ones in my car, they are even worse, lol

I had the same problem, this was that the door card had been removed by a previous owner, and the metal strip that clips onto the door had come away from the door card at the end nearest to the locking button( this is I believe a known problem when removing the door card).
The solution was to remove the door card, 15 minutes at most, use Tiger bond to secure the strip to the card, it may be wise to drill a couple of small holes in the door card to aid adehsion, clamp in place for 24 hours, and carefully refit the door card.
The button held in place ceased to rattle. QED
There is a HOW TO regarding the door card.
Hope this helps :y

I find mine does this very infrequently, my solution is to just lock the doors. Rattle dissapears :y

Good idea - wonder if anyone has fitted anti-carjack locking to an Omega - that would do it automatically! :)

And I thought I was the only one who had this irritation - lol - will try the electrician's tape solution as this little rattle has annoyed me since I got the car :y
