Title: Idle speed
Post by: Ryan Hegarty on 24 August 2009, 21:03:24
Hi all have noticed my 2.5 V6 idles at a high rev when cold (about 1400 rpm) is there any way to reduce this?

The idle is ecu controlled, but that does sound high  :-/

Hi, I notice in another thread you posted it sounds like your breather system needs cleaning so it may be your ICV and throttle body is filthy. Cleaning the system out along with the ICV will probably help, look in the maintenance section for a how to :y.
Also have you checked to see if your throttle cable is adjusted correctly as there is no other adjustment possible :).

Thanks guys - good cleaning of breathers required - will this cure the oil leaking into the plug wells or is gaskets also required?
