Hello,
Can anyone tell me if the 2001 [on an X plate] 2.2 cd model has a cambelt or camchain [or could it be either ??? an' if so how can I tell without taking the cover off.
Regards

Belt - if its petrol. Diesel - I wouldnt know. :y

As Albs has said already, if it's a petrol it will be a belt and needs to be changed every 40k or 4 years (whichever is sooner). If it's a diesel it's chain so (in theory) it'll never need doing :y

Thanks! for the info.
It is petrol n' good to know its a belt ~ since a new one was part of the deal. Should have it by next week.
Thanks again ~ [and for the welcomes too - you know who you are n' I'm not sure how to reply yet e.g. will everyone get this?

PS I promise to read the guidelines but not tonight - It's my bedtime.

Hi Wal and welcome to the Forum :y.
If someone is fitting a new belt for you make sure they replace not just the belt but the tensioners aswell :).

Yep it's usually the tensioner that "lets go" so it's a must to change them along with the belt :y
