Post by: suzieqt on 03 September 2009, 15:03:04
hi all
have been having a problem when braking hard from about 60 downwards ,vibration is felt through the steering wheel and front of car,the steering idler was changed in march on it's m.o.t ,also the front disc's and pad's have just been changed, could it be a suspension problem as i have checked the front drop link's---- well as much as a novice can check  :-/

I had a problem when braking from say 60mph, cured it by having new discs and pads fitted.
The old discs were absolutely shot, and badly coroded.
A few months before I had just had new pads only fitted which had to be ditched.
Have you had gen VX discs and pads fitted? just a though as you say only when braking.

Mick

My car had "..........genuine vx disc's and pad's fitted........" I have a receipt for it [before I had it from last owners] and I had terrible brake squeal. The stealers fitted "Apec" pads which also are avail @ Happy Motorist centres [??!!]
Mintex pads cured it.
