I have a 2003 Omega Estate 2.2 LPG.
My front exhaust pipe is blowing. I have just taken it to my local Vauxhall garage (as I believed they would use better parts!) only to be told that as this part of the exhaust incorporates my catalytic converter, the replacement cost of just the front pipe will be £335.
This seems extremely expensive to me.
Has anybody had to replace a similar part?

Quite common on cars, and that price sounds right for a stealer...
Maybe see if someone's breaking a 2.2 on here. :y

have the hole welded? as long as the rest of the pipe is ok. you might get more time for your wallet to get used to being raped.

Stay away from dealers, their a rip off, just had an ecu taken off, repaired and refitted for £232 Inc by local garage, dealer wanted £750 to supply and fit new ecu >:(, get from scrappy or e-bay, my uncle's seen them for £90 a pair on e-bay (can't guarantee good quality though,lol) :y

Usually fails at the flexible coupling, not due to a hole in the pipe. You can get replacement flexi sections off e-bay, just decide if there is enough pipe to allow for a clamp-on one or if you have to go for weld-on.
Dont fit a non-gen front pipe and cat, they use single walled pipe insted of twin and sound awfull, really noisy and sounds like its blowing when under load.

I've got same issue and mine's deffo blowing out of flexi. Cheapest quote I had for new assembly complete was £150 fitted with 3yr warranty from Britannia Tyres of 116 Siddals Rd, Derby, DE1 2PW
01332 347491. But like previous poster said quality will be dubious.
I'm borrowing friends' MIG welder @ weekend and I'm welding a flexi section in. I'll take some pix of the process for anyone's future reference if interested.

My young nephew has already got me one, but I cant rem where he said! It was a local [Derby] shop anyway. I will post back later as he's coming round tonite.

Get a clamp-on type then you can do in situ on car without taking frontpipe off. You will just need a small angle grinder with a cutting disc fitted. You'll have to get some calipers and measure the o/d of old pipe before and after the flexi to make sure the new flexi piece sits either inside [or outside] the old pipe. You dont want it same dia or you'll have to mess about with reducers, too.
I've had a look @ mine on ramps and I will not be able to get the MIG torch over the exhaust and between the floor pan so it will have to come off to weld.
Due to work commitments this wkend I have actually had to postpone doing mine till next wkend, so if you can get here [or get it off and get it here] - I'll weld yours when I weld mine if you want?
