Title: Just fitted my LPG kit and......
Post by: Jay w on 05 December 2007, 08:59:03
All the rather garages in Plymouth and the surrounding area as of sunday will stop selling LPG   >:( >:( >:(

the local council and government want cleaner fuels to be used, we spend a fair chunck of money doing the conversion and then the greedy pertol companies complain that there is not the take up on it.... :-/

It is still in its infancy for crying out loud, and now no one in Plymouth will not have their cars converted because the supply of the gas is not there.......

Fuming i am, totally spitting feathers  >:( >:(

Do any taxi's run on LPG down there?  Ask where they will get gassed up.  Round my way, there is an independant supplier of all things gas - welding, domestic heating etc - who also battles with the local Asda pricewise and most taxi's fill up from him.....

What a nightmare!  >:(

break 'em. Get a bulk tank installed in your front garden and sell it yourself and any other passers by.

Go to the one you normally fill up at and blockade it.

Say you are out of fuel and waiting for it to refill.

No just Plymouth, they blame a low take up in the fuel.....for crying out loud things like this take time to get going......

So the moral is, if you have a LPG powered car make sure you have enough to get you past plymouth and into Cornwall.........

Will, sorry mate i have just got the bloody thing going well, it aint getting sold yet  ;)

Unfortunately Countrywide sites are limited to midlands (roughly) and south of there.

Nearest one to you is Crewkerne I reckon.............bl**dy miles away.

Tho interestly i noticed on their site, if you buy a big tank off them....they will install it free of charge!
Tho Plymouth is probably too far out for them  :-/

But they aint as cheap as they used to be.........i pay 43/44ppl , but i get 5p discount pl, so 48/49ppl. They stopped the discount scheme last year, but as long as I keep paying a tenner a year I continue to get the discount.

Dont know why the demand isnt in Plymouth  :-/

The Countrywide site I use in Swindon.......has two off those big tanks.....the tanker is there every other day refilling em.....thats a lot of lpg being used.

at the risk of being un-PC it would seem the locals in Plymouth dont accept change too well  ::)

couple of people in my street comment on how unstable LPG is and how there was an airship in the early 1900's that blew up running on LPG ;D

The great thing is they all give way to me now without any issues.......wonder why

none that im aware off, when i first installed my lpg i borrowed a lpg pump from a local chap and filled my tank from a supergas bottle.because its domestic gas it has less duty on it,has no dye or anything else to mark it out as anything other than regular lpg.
