Title: Exhaust joint
Post by: Toby on 17 September 2009, 12:20:24
Ok, anyone know if the OE screws I can get from VX would be any good for these center section joints? Or will I just need a nut, bolt and couple of washers. Any idea on size of bolt? Just this that needs doing now and I can fire up the Elite again

I have used any old nut & bolt in the past, I did consider it a bodge, but it did do the job.  As for the size - the biggest that will fit.

If your planning on keeping the car, get stainless steel ones, you never know when you might have to undo them again ;)

Second that... After shearing bolts between cat and exhaust then having to drill them out... what a job!

At the moment all I want is to get it running. Stainless bolts etc can wait. Could do with the car for weekend so just need to know if the bolts from VX would fasten it.
