I think I might be needing to get my windscreen replaced due to a bad chip in the driver's area.
When I last contacted my insurance company about the windscreen they asked if the car had automatic wipers. How do I know if it has or not? I can't find any reference to anything like this in the owner's manual. The wiper controls look standard, with variable intermittent wipe.
There is a funny shaped 'thing' in the middle of the dash at the bottom of the windscreen but I thought that would be something to do with the dashboard fixings?

the dome 'thing' is a sunlight sensor for the climate control.
iirc if you have a variable stalk, you WONT have a rain sensor.
to anyone with a non variable stalk.....this doesnt mean you do, some had no variable stalks :'(

Cheers Jimbob.... :y

little window in the black printed area below the rear view mirror when viewed from the outside is another clue if you have rain sensors. Its printed on the screen, and is why they are asking. :-)

Having perused the specs for the 2002 and 2003 Omegas it looks like rain sensing wipers only came in for the 2003 models.
My Mig also doesn't have the variable stalk, which is a shame, but not the end of the world... :(

I fitted one to my Senator using Andy Kirwan's http://homepage.ntlworld.com/cavweb2000/ak_how2.htm guide, I would think you'd be able to do the same to an Omega ... :-/
