Hi,
Just wondering if anyone can help with the timing of my omega its a 3.0 v6 ecotec engine.
I have changed head gaskets and am struggling to time it correctly due to someone messing about with the bottom crank! Is there a detailed diagram available anywhere that anyone knows of, help would be very much appreciated, Thanks. :)

Have you got a proper V6 cam locking kit?
I think I am right in saying that the crank lock tool only fits on one way and that is when the crank is at TDC. Then you can get your cams timed to this and check it with the rest of the cam locking kit.
The DVD available in the OOF shop is a godsend when doing the cambelt and timing on a V6. Also where are you? There may be someone local.
Someone more experienced may know more. :y

Just bear in mind if you need to rotate the cams any distance, the crank needs to be 60deg BTDC :y

Pretty sure you could actually have the Crank 180 degrees out and the Crank Lock would still fit..... you need to have the Cut which goes through a bolt hole at the very bottom, there is a cut out on the edge of the oil pump to line up with to prove this :y

As James said there are many of us who have locking kits along with the experience of doing cambelts. One of may be local to you so let us know where you are and see if one of us can help :y
