				Hi guys,

Anyone here removed the sump before?  I get the oil lack message alot which I think comes from the sensor in the sump so I want to get in there clean things up and clean/replace the strainer.  Looked in the maintenance guides and nothing there so firstly:

 - is it a pig of a job or fairly easy?
 - paper gasket or sealant for refitting?
 - torque values for the sump bolts if known.

 TIA :y

Fairly easy & straight forward to remove the lower sump pan
I was given (sold  ::)) a grey instant gasket/glue in a mini silicon sealant type tube from Vauxhall, stuck like the proverbial to a blanket.  ;)
Mr Haynes says 8 metric newton thingies/ 6 lbft and then angle tighten a further 30o
The wires to the sensor were quite brittle, I had to resolder one of them as it broke at the switch

I havent checked the connections physically, just visually and they looked ok.  Maybe I should get the multimeter on it and wiggle some wires......

The connections INSIDE the sump.  :y There's 5" or 6" of wire between the plug at the back/top of the sump and the actual level switch.  :y
