Title: Headlight problem

Hello, my headlight bulb went the other day so I changed it, this worked for 2 days then went again so I bought another today and it won't work at all. I swapped the bulbs round and the second "dead" bulb worked fine in the other side so it's not a bulb issue. Does anyone know how to start trying to fix this? All the connections and wires look fine from what I can see....

fuses, relays is what i would look for. hid light or normal? im still stuck in the past and like points and a coil!

They're the normal lights - poverty spec GLS! Will a fuse only affect one side? I'll check them anyway.
Pete - wher is the earth wire and how would I check it?  :-[

I had this problem after I fitted cheap replacement headlights (£50 each). The electrical connectors were poor quality and one of the pins in the connector bent back when I plugged it into the wiring loom.

If you only have the problem with one lamp then it isn't the earth wire.

Fuse 21 & 22 Pass side dip & main. 31 & 32 drivers side dip & main

There aren't any relays in the headlight circuit. The earth connection is the thick brown wire in the bundle, the dipped supply being the thick yellow one.

Should be easy enough to check with a meter after you have unplugged the connector.

Had a similar problem.When i changed one bulb and the other one stopped working.the bulb i thought that had blow i tried in the other side and it worked(Strange)after about half a hour fiddling found nothing so bought 2 more bulbs fitted them and both worked.somehow even though there not wired to the same fuse,the working bulb surged the other side(even stranger)i find cheaper bulbs seemed to cause the problem .hope this makes sense to you

It was the fuse  :-[ cheers!
Strange thing is though, when the fuse had gone one of the bulbs behind the dash was working. I put a new fuse in and the headlight works and the dash bulb won't light again. When I take the fuse out the dash bulb works again!
Looks like I have to choose between the two - think I'll stick to the headlight...
