Title: Gearbox warning

I've got a 3l v6 auto vreg, on my way to work this evening the check automatic gearbox flashed up on the screen. Also the TC light came on the clock display as well, what could this be????

Could do with getting GEARBOX codes (not engine codes).

You need a code reader or someone else with a code reader to read the fault codes.  :y  :y  :y  :y No way to do it yourself like engine codes.  :(

If you have a laptop with a serial port or access to one, you can buy what is refered to as a 'Cheapo Tech II' for less than what most garages will charge you to read various codes, and you'll have it for another time time. Mine was IIRC £25 and has read a few different types of codes & reset airbag lights a couple of times so has paid for itself a couple of times over. USB type apparently can be problematic.  :y

Never had any luck even with the MDTM version myself.
"My Naff Code Reader" will do it though.

Or for cheapo tech2s, see the FAQ about code readers, and try the demo software - much better than the rubbish they provide
