have done some searching on google about the warm start problem on the dervs and found this
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Hot-Starting-Fix-Range-Rover-BMW-Diesel-P38-DT-DSE_W0QQitemZ390100016343QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item5ad3c5dcd7&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14
anyone used one of these? do they work?
thanks

I believe some of the tractor owners on here have resolved issues using it
-
I also saw a few topics here regarding that. Some claimed it helped them
-
i hope it works as its anoying and ive taken omega of the road till i get it fixed :(

Easy to fit, will only take you a few mins to do.
Only got to tap into 4 wires iirc. :y

£30 for a 555 timer IC and a couple of resistors/capacitors????
Bloody hell, I should have pursued the electronics rather than settling on being a sparks.

But it keeps my company in business :)

I must admit, I do like the "scare" tactic of "Others are selling a standard 5 pin relay & a single resistor"
It's complete & utter bullshit, but then anybody who pays £30 for a 20p IC will believe it anyway.

Garage I bought my Mig from spent £400 trying to cure the hot starting problem under their warranty, I cured it for £30, consider that a RESULT :y

its also done the trick on mine :y :y

End of day, 30 quid is nothing if it solves to hot start problem really is it?
20p is ‘complete & utter bullshit’ anyway!
20p for a 555, yeah maybe, but then you need to pay P+P ;)
Caps will again be 10p each (wonder what the minimum order is? 25?)
Resistors will be a few pence each (can you buy them in quantities under 50?)
Would need a relay too, so that’s going to be 75p.
Then a little project box £1.25...
Not to mention the time to actually put all this together, and determine all the component values in the first place.
What starts off as a cheap 20p job will soon be at least 5 quid. (On a one off basis remember) Not to mention the few hours of time involved in sourcing, building, testing, packaging it!
The other problem is most people don’t have 555 timers, caps + resistors, veroboards, soldering irons laying about, and more so most people wouldn't have a clue where to do with them if they did!
