Title: Rust in wheel holding area

hi i have a omega m reg 16v 2l saloon
i have been working on it for a while now
just getting the rust bits sorted out
as i was checking everywhere i found a rust hole in the spare wheel holding compartment.
as you know this is right by the passenger rear wheel arch. so here is my questions
1. will this fail it on an mot
2. what would be the best way to fix it
 any help gratefully accepted

Depends where it is... If within 30cms of a prescribed area (suspension mount, seat/seatbelt mount etc) then yes, otherwise it shouldn't but TBH weld a plate over it and be done :y :y :y

As said weld a plate over it or clean it and use fiberglass depending how big and where the hole is.
