Title: Oil cooler problem?
Post by: Gaffers on 07 October 2009, 20:28:00
I am looking at purchasing an omega which is claimed is a HG problem.  I asked why he thought that and he replied:

HI.
The mileage is 116177.aand there is oil in the water and it overheats and blows water from the headder tank.
Regards.
dave.

Would oil cooler cause water to blow like that?  I think it might but the experts will surely put me right :y

Yep, oil is being forced into the cooling system causing it to overflow ;)

As he said ^^

And the overheating probably caused by completely gunged up water ways in both the engine - easily flushable - and the radiator - not so easy - lots of low foam detergent or take the rad off and Fernox it .. :(

Was thinking about this one. About 6 miles from me. FYI it`s a mini-facelift (steering wheel controls) but no leather

Could it be the oil cooler?

If it was it would be easier and cheaper,
