I need to get my lpg serviced/sorted out because it keeps switching to petrol when i do over 55mph
hopefully its something simple because i cant afford to spend too much on it
problem is its a Prins system meaning only a few garages can service it
does anyone know a good place in east anglian (dont mind traveling!) i live near norwich

When I was rebuilding a Rover V8 several years ago RPi (on the outskirts of Norwich) were pushing early LPG systems (before sequential became common).
They don't appear to be Prinns agents but they do now sell sequential systems.
If no one comes up with a better suggestion I would go and see them for some basic fault finding. It sounds like your system is suffering from fuel starvation and switching back to petrol so I would initially suspect either the vapouriser or pressure regulator.

Firstly, check all filters in the system. If they haven't been changed regularly they could be limiting fuel flow.
Secondly, could be that the vapouriser is either not getting hot enough due to poor coolant flow or an airlock, or has been contaminated with "heavy ends" and needs a rebuild.

thanks for the input
unfouturely i bought the car with little history so dont know when the lpg was installed or serviced
im hoping its just the filters as theyre quite cheap!
found a good place local to me but they have a week booking so will have to wait and see!
are the filters easy to take off and inspect? guess its not presurised system?

Got it sorted
the water feed to the water tank was blocked, so wasnt getting any water though therefore not heating up the gas
sorted :-)

If they've plumbed the vapouriser into the feed to the header tank that will cause problems. There's nowhere near enough coolant flow to keep it hot.

it took about 30mins to heat up today, couple of corners and i got the 4 nice green lights :)
before then i was luckly to have it working after 8miles of driving!
just need to top up the petrol to get the light off lol

It should switch over to gas MUCH quicker than that.
This does suggest that the vapouriser is not getting decent coolant flow if it's taking that long to warm up.
Mine switches over after about a minute of running in this weather.

Mine too... Always switches within a mile or so, even in the cold :y :y
Give me a couple of weeks and I should be able to have a look for you if you like

im only getting 200miles to a tank at fast motorway speeds is that average? havent tested it propley on normal driving.
i bought the car without any lpg service history, is it best to get it serviced soon as a precaution?

Sorry, not been on much lately as I've been helping the Brother and Sister-in-Law get their new pub open :y :y :y
Range is dependant on tank size... I get 300+ from mine but it's a 90L tank!
As for servicing... TBH there's very little to do. Just change the filters and check for leaks. Unfortunately I don't have the Prins software or lead so wouldn't be able to check anything with the ECU, unless you have the software etc?

Easy enough to add a tank but you'll lose all your boot space
