Right I have taken off the glovebox and even taken out the passenger airbag but I cant seem to get decent enought access to get the motor out. I guess that it is the small torx screws holding the motor in?
Does the rest of the frame come out? It seems to be connected to teh entire dash....

You need to remove the recirculation air valve vacuum unit to gain access to the blower motor.

With the glovebox off look at the blower motor housing (BMH) and to the left is the RAVVU. Should have a blue vac hose going to it. Disconnect blue hose, lever unit from mounting you will see an actuator arm at bottom of vacuum unit, disconnect it from the lever then remove vacuum unit :y
More access with air ducting removed :y

A section of the fan housing comes off (about 3/4 of its' diameter) with the fan and motor. I think the 3 torx you can see just secure the motor to this but there's a huge fan behind it. There are larger screw around the diameter of the housing.
Have you tried disconnecting the motor itself and applying 12v? (just in case it's the controller).

You just need to remove glovebox (leave airbag in place), untape wiring to wiring tray and remove tray. No need to remove anything else except you may have to disconnect blue hose (I didn't). 3 x small torx screws (the top two being almost inaccessible) to remove plus wiring leads to right of blower unit and whole lot drops out. If you think the top 2 screws were hard to get out wait till you go to put em back in!! Good luck with it Guffers!! ;)

Well, given up for today. I'm off to Bristol now to pick up this omega. Thermostat housing done though, b@stard bolt was not the worst bolt I have ever dealt with although I did lose a 10mm spanner in the process (prob next to the 19mm crows foot thats in there somewhere)
I'll have to take the tray out to get at the fan. The airbag has already come out :-[

With the battery disconnected to stop the ECU getting the hump?

Don't whatever you do switch the ignition on until it's re-fitted. Actually re-fit it now! ;)

Did that, but still have the red airbag light :(

Needs a Tech 2 chat to reset the airbag ECU. :y
