Today would not come up at all but i had this problem last winter put a bit of wd40 on it thru the screw holes and was ok . Now its given up all together the card looks like it will come off ok my question is:=
could i change the solenoid with out taking out all the lock mechanism and is it visible on removal of the card i await your knowledgable replies

I finally got round to changing the drivers door solonoid with the excellent advice and help from welung was pretty easy really only problem was the wiring plug to the solonoid i could not compress the clips because of the limited room however i slacked off the lock screws and used a screwdriver to prise up the clip on the door side and got it of was a bit fiddly getting it into position but went in ok only thing was the wiring loom plug went in very easy too easy i thought but it was clipped in so all ok took about an hour start to finish
Thanks to all for the advice and special thanks to welung you are stars
