Title: fault code - on 1998 2.0i 16V

Still trying to sort out intermittent misfire - next step replace fuel filter but on doing paperclip test to check out engine mgt faults I get the following result, which I cannot find in any fault code list.
ignition on, engine not running code 10-3
ignition on, engine running - no fault codes showing
any ideas?

Try it again and write down the sequence of flashes then post up

yes this is the sequence in sets of 3 with the engine stopped i.e 10,3 then 10,3 then 10,3 and then start again
