Title: Help Appreciated Please?
Post by: PhilRich on 12 October 2009, 23:18:31
Hi lads...& lasses. Could anyone please shed some light on the possible reason for the fault codes I am getting? The emissions light comes on about once a week, usually after it has taken two turns of the key to start her. From cold, the car sounds like it has a misfire, and there is some light vibration, but there is no apparent lack of power? When hot the symptoms improve but are still there.
When I clear the fault codes, the emissions light goes out, and although cold starting has the same symptoms, they disappear when hot & the car runs OK until the next time the warning light comes on. She has just passed the MOT (last week) & emissions  were not an issue. Any help would be very welcome  :y
Thanks, Phil.

them fault are caused by the cam sensor, with no signal to ECU it turns the others off. :y

Sounds like you need to replace the cam sensor mate.

Thanks to everyone who kindly answered my call for help. Welung666 has come to the rescue with an extremely generous offer for a sensor he is letting me have for peanuts, or should that be monkeynuts (well I do come from Hartlepool ;D). :y
