Title: Wishbone/polybush torque values.
Post by: Boatboy on 12 October 2009, 12:15:57
Are the torque/angle values the same whether using poly bushes or standard? Got some powerflex to fit and don't want to knacker them through ignorance or assumption.

Thanks in advance,

Steve

Yes Steve, i set it all up as per mantainance guides & have had on problems. Car sailed through mot testerday with no advisories for the second year running  :y

I mentioned the car was poly bushed & they are going to offer this to customers as failed wishbone bushes were quite common  :y

Thanks for the confirmation guys.

Turk, I took heed of your video how-to and changed the bushes without removing the wishbone although I had to do it in the road.
Not keen on using a blow torch down there I used a power drill with 6mm bit to completely 'muller' the rubber before removing the central core and then cutting through the sleeves with a standard hacksaw.

Well done matey :y
Don't think your partner/mother/neighbours/council (or anyone else that tend to complain about the least thing) would be too happy with the mess made by the rubber if you'd used a blow torch either.
You'll need to get check your tracking asap. Mine was well out after fitting the poly's.
Ideally a full geometric  :y
