Post by: PhilRich on 20 October 2009, 18:47:30
Hi everyone, I would appreciate any help with tips, howto, for removing/renewing a cam sensor on my 2.2i CDX. Many thanks. Phil. :y

Cam cover off (couple of bolts) move cable tray out of the way, remove black plastic "Ecotec" cover, sensor held with one bolt :y

Which is in between the cam sprockets so Aux belt and timing belt cover need to come off. Oh yes it's a male T30 bolt and only needs loosening. Leave the cam sensor plugged in until it is out as it's easier to pull it out with the cable ;) :y

No need on the 2.2, the black ecotec strip is the only thing that needs to be removed

I think he meant 'cam belt' cover Tun, the 2.2 I've just broken doesn't have (well didn't  ::) ) have a hole in the cover, might be worth checking though Phil. The cable tray over the top of the cam belt cover has 2 x 10mm nuts, take them off and the cable tray pulls off and up a bit. Check for a hole in the cam belt cover.
