Title: no 1st gear

hi there ive got an omega 2.2 auto estate 2001 on a y,the car sets off like its in winter mode and if i try to manually engage 1st there is no 1st gear.i have 2nd and up,also ive no sport mode if anyone can shed any light thanks

Is the ATF topped up how many miles?

havent checked  fluid yet,its done 133000.i was just hoping someone would say yeh its low on oil or yeh its just that little switch which is easy to get to fingers crossed

Would first check ARF level this can be the cayse of many problems and is easiest to eliminate if not.
