I replaced the exhaust return pipe on my car about 3 months ago, I have noticed that the pipe is starting to blow again...
I was wondering if assuming the pipe has fractured again, if I would be able to blank off the return pipe, without having any detrimental effects on the engine...
Thanks...

Ran mine with EGR blanked off for over a week with no issues.

Is the middle bracket still in place? Without all the brackets in tack, the vibration spilts these, normally at the bend near the exhaust manifold

I have noticed the middle bracket (p clip thingy), has come adrift, so I will drop the pipe off, check the bottom end of it for damage, if it is knoackered, i'll blank it, if it is "repairable" I'll bodge it with fire paste... lol... oh and bodge a new centre joint...

i run mine totally removed and blanked at the manifold. I didn't have to blank the EGR end as it isn't there any more! :D

I have removed the pipe and the f****ng thing has sheared at the flange, so I am going to have to blank it for now with a bodge and try to do something a little better laterthe only scrap metal I have got available is pet food tins, so, they'll have to do for now...

I used a double thickness of Coke can.

Well, I am so glad I haven't been laughed at, I have cut the blighter out and just double checked that it won't melt by using my wifes kitchen blow torch on a scrap... it glows nice and seems reasonably robust...
