Title: Passenger seat folding - Not flat
Post by: Mark S on 23 October 2009, 11:45:41
I need to get some long timber in to my Omega estate, and want to get the front passenger seat as flat as possible. It's a '99 Elite with electric memory seat. The owners manual seems to suggest I can get the seat very flat - but maybe this is just for manual seats? I have the seat in its maximum forward position with the seat back reclined as far as it can go, but it's not very flat. I don't want to damage it, is there a better way of doing this?

Many thanks for any suggestions.

Manual ones go practically flat, i know that cause a book case i bought was bigger than i expected when i got back to the car, had to put that seat down.

Don't think the leccy ones move as far.

On the estate there is a handle to put the passenger side seat back flat like on a 3 door car but iirc the Elite doesn't have that option :(

Elite does not have the fold-flat front seat option due to the fully electric seat

.....but it will go low enough when fully reclined and fully forward with head rest removed to clear the rear seat back rest. Just lay a blanket or similar over the seat to stop any damage. :-)

I miss that option from my old cdx though....
