Title: Oil filter and idiots at Vx

The idiots at the slealers are more thick than i thought.I only wanted to buy a oil filter for my 2.0 1998 manual cdx saloon.But in their wisdom they tell me there is 3 different ones.I only want a cartage type in nice grey.They tell me the only way they can find out is via my vin number but they can't find that on their computer either. Believe it or not this has taken 30 minutes so far. Can anyone give me the right part number.Is it school training week ? >:( >:( >:(

Am still parked at the stealers and now they tell me i need a paper element type.That's for a diesel init ?Anyone got a shotgun to put me down. Looking for a job,Send your C.V to Vx Chichester.No brain cells required

:yVOF93 called Halford for the part number.Now there's a different chap at the parts desk,told him what i wanted and hay pesto 1 oil filter and 5lts of oil free.He turn out to be the manager of the dealers and couldn't say sorry enough.

(page 85 of the current TC book if they have one hanging about)

Sump Washer, copper type, 11023582 £0.13
or O ring Type, 90528145 £0.20

All + VAT

Cheers lads.Charged me £1.80 for the filter,got a box of sump wasters in the garage already.Happy now i'll just remember the next time i want a new car i'll moan and you never know i might get some freebies from them. :y :y

The 2.0/2.2 petrol Omegas only ever took teh VOF93 one.

I bought 2 filters for my 2.2 petrol estate and the bargain box of oil (4 for the price of 3) in the Chichester Vauxhall garage on Saturday with the tradeclub discount no problem.  Touch wood I have always found them most helpful over the last 10 years or so with both my Omegas and Vectra parts for family cars, you must have been unfortunate to get the dummy, still at least they finally sorted you out.

You should moan, might have come away with the monaro sitting out in the car park :)

I just get it my self of the shelf halfords £2.99 with card get free 5lt oil every year.
