Title: Cold Air behind Radio.
Post by: zirk on 01 November 2009, 19:31:10
Is it normal to have cold air blowing behind the Radio?, even though the heaters on.

Facelift ex plod with a big hole where the radio should be.

Quite often they remove the plastic duct that runs from below the radio and down past the handbrake.....could be this.

That's probably the one that connects to the back of the Glovebox for the chiller :).

Some pics of where the cold air is comming (blowing) from, the rubber pipe pointing directly at the back of where the radio should be. should it be connected to something else?. Any thoughts.

Pic 2, no warm/ cold air arround for the rear passingers, but its been well messed with by the Met.

Think all the late facelifts had the cold air feed to there to keep the HU cool, the NCDC head units have a fan on the LH side so would suck that cold air in.

Thanks VXL, in that case I might just cork it till the a HU gets fitted, being ex plod Im guessing GLS spec, even though its MV6 on the V5, so no NCDC would have been fitted, maybe as you say it was standard fit on FL's.
