My cat converter seems to be coming to an end and will probably need replacing within a couple og months.
Original ones are expensive as hell it seems.
So I would rather take the aftermarket route.
Did anyone replace their catalytic converters with aftermarket ones?
Am I looking at any potential problems when putting aftermarket one?

What makes you think its failing, starting to get noisey? It could be the flexi join after the cat, mine failed at 115k miles.
-
It makes noise at the moment of starting but only if the engine is hot.
If the engine is cold the noise doesn't appear.

I was told to avoid the aftermarket ones as they only last a year.

I bought cheapies for my old 2.5 from ebay and they were still good when i sold the car 3 years later.Car had covered 286k when sold.

Well the guarantee for the aftermarket cat I was looking is two years.
How much did you pay for it SelseyBill if you remember?
