Hi
I've tried looking through old posts but can't find my exact problem.
My Omega has started making a funny whining/rubbing noise when turning right, on a roundabout for example. You can hear and feel it start to rub once you start turning and as the turn gets tighter the rubbing gets more intense.
I've had a look underneath and can't find anything obvious so the next step was gonna be kwik fit (i know i know)
just wondering if you guys had any ideas what it might be? CV joint maybe? it feeds back up through the steering wheel and is sometimes accompanied by some clunking which feels like its right in the middle under my left foot.
Any advice would be great
Cheers
Dan

No CV joints - RWD not FWD!!
Probably steering idler.
-
Could be the steering idler or the pump
-
Or the pitman arm, opposite side to idler
-
Rubbing = mudflaps.
Clunk = suspension drop link arm.....
seemples! ;)
ps - waits for OP to say that he does not have mudflaps...... :D ;D

thanks everyone, i'll have another look today and see if i caan see anything. is it likely to be something i need to get fixed now or can i wait until it gets worse? only just bought the car so bit skint at the mo...and i bet it'll be expensive to fix :(
i've decided the noise definitely sounds like the noise you get when your fan belt slips if that changes anyones opinion?
I know this is off topic, but i took the stereo out yesterday to put my own one in and noticed a pipe coming up by the back of the stereo and as the fans were on i could feel air flowing out of it. has this come off of something or should it be blowing out behind the dashboard for a reason i can't think of other than keepin the stereo cool?
Again, thanks for all your help
Cheers
Dan
