Post by: Cookie Monster on 31 October 2009, 18:22:01
Help pls ... Looked a right prat in Tesco car park today... remotely unlocked boot.. filled it up with a load of food costing more that my first car! Then unlocked doors .. got in .. turn key in ignition then.... woohoo woohoo .. damn alarm went off.. car started but even tho i could stop then noise for a short time by pressing the remote button as soon as i moved car it went off and kept doing it. I tried all i could think of to reset the alarm but nothing worked.. opened and slammed all doors and boot and bonnet but no good.
Anyone got any ideas please ??? :(

Suspect the powersounder has started to fail. Remove it.

Did you try removing a battery lead for a while to see if it would reset :question.

Similar thing happened to my wife in Tescos on Friday.  Maybe a coincidence, but had just replaced missing front 400hz horn with one that was also not sounding-was awaiting some fiddling.

I have since ditched it and put another 500hz horn on to make pair of 500hz (sounds like 70s Peugeot!), but no more alarm soundings.  Is this a coincidence?

The service history shows two replacement of power-sounders and some alarm work-and when I bought the car, as stated-the front horn of the pair was missing.

Any comments/ideas?  :-?

May be useful to know... I had replaced missing front horn with one that was faulty, now fitted another and seems to have cured this-not happened since.

Only happened once-in the one day the faulty horn was fitted.
