Yesterday I switched the a/c off and noticed the temp was noticeably higher as per gauge.
Normal range with a/c on is up to mid point at 95,only very rarely going beyond then coming back down.
With a/c off went up to 97.5 and slightly above ,but did come down so fan is obviously working.
Does this sound like the main rad thermo switch is out of temp range and needs replacing ? as seem to recall should switch fan on at less than 97.5.

have you re-dun your antifreeze, or flushed out your water, might be time to do so,

Coolant had a full flush and refill about 3 months ago with 50/50 mix and is a nice pink colour.
Only seems to creap up with a/c off and fan does come on about 97.5 and pulls temp down,so no major issue....just remembered that this used to occur at nearer 95,so my thought about radiator sensor switch needing renewing.

Sound right with the 'aircon' off, the 'aircon fans help with engine cooling, the important thing is that the engine fan cuts at 'low' speed in at 97.5, if the temp gets higher the speed should go 'high'. At that point you have a problem.
