IanD noticed that there was a distinct noise from the front whilst engine was running. its now developed into a high pitch squeal when accelerating - no coolant or oil loss :-/
-
That could be your Turbo - they do whistle a merry tune! ;D
-
had similar thing few years back and it was power steering/alternator belt idler pulley!!! worth checking :y
-
if it is the pulley (ian did indicate that - but when driven the o/s seems favourite) what is the remedy re pulley ? cheers :y
-
It's perfectly normal for the turbo to have a whistle noise.
However, to eliminate the power steering pump being at fault, (or any other auxiliaries), remove the drive belt then run the engine.
See where you go from there.
