Are the genuine mats still available from dealers, and the also the fixings buttons?

Yep, they're still available. Last time I checked, about 6 weeks ago the price was circa £36 including fixing buttons.

Hmm....the one's I have in the estate are very good. Give em a good scrub with carpet cleaner and hose them down they look as good as new.
What's these latest one's like?

Is it possible to "retro-fit" the fixing button thingies ?? Damn mats on mine just about walk everywhere and I'd like to stop that.... prepared to buy some new mats but only if I can fix em down !!!

Buy a retro-fit set with the clips that have either a long sharp spike that pokes through the carpet towards the front of the car, or the wide plastic screw that screws directly into the carpet

They both work well  :y

I haven't managed to work out why some Omega's have the fixing lugs on the floor and some don't. My 2002 CDX had them built into the carpet, and the 2001 3.2 ex police I have atm has them aswell. But the 2002 2.6 Elite doesn't. I think if the car was ordered with mats from new the fixing lugs were present in the carpet. I guess the only way to do it would be to find a matching carpet with the fixing lugs and transplant it to your car. But maybe you could just cut out the fixing lugs and attach them to the floor? I may have a go and see what happens.

Got my mats from a Vx stealer with the fitting lugs present only on the drivers mat (even though all footwell space have holes in the floor).
The fixing lug things are useless and work for about 30 minutes.

I'd get them made by a car mat maker with the automotive equivelant of coach bolts to keep 'em in place ::) ;)
