Title: Best one to use?

Following on from the "which fuel" posts...a few people mentioned addatives to add to a tank of fuel....which one is actually the best to use? i used Redex once and my engine didnt seem to like it very much, made it feel slightly lumpy when idling and later a mechanic told me Redex is the worst to use because if you use it too often the engine actually become reliant on it? is that true?

Forte Advanced Forumla Gas Treatment (Not available retail, so get it off ebay, I always pay <£5 a bottle) and use it about 3 times a year
