My 2.5 petrol auto Elite (the subject of many posts) is now at 166k with a cam belt replacement due at 170K. Back in employment with £425 allowance per month for a car, what should I do, just spent on wishbones, drop links, steering ider, 'Wheel in Motion' set up, auto box fluid & filter replaced, new discs and pads, new exhaust, filters, oil & filter every 4k, plus dash bulbs etc.
Should I spend £250 on a new cam belt, water pump, fuel fiter & aux belt or "drop it". It's running beautilfully, tick over at 600rpm, very smooth, 'Iridium plugs, everything ?
Have I answered my own question ????

if its still a good motor & you have done loads to it, personally i would get it done rather than risk it. im sure you could get it done for less money though. :y
have a word with elite pete. ;)

the car is worth next to nothing....
so lets say £500 youve sold it for
plus £250 youve saved from not doing cambelt
whats your £750 gonna get you? and whats that gonna need doing to it?

If the cam belt "lets go" It's good night Vienna you wont be in need of wishbones, drop links etc 'cos your car won't be going anywhere
