Ok 95 3.0 manual elite estate...got the car dead cheap as the Zafira broke down (oil pump failed one week after I replaced the master cylinder...useless piece of sh*******).
So the Omega runs fine apart from a couple of known issues...bolt head has sheared off on the oil pump so leaks oil above about 3000rpm so oil needs topping up now and again...and exhaust manifold gasket leaking...neither much of an issue to me as its a temporary get out of jail pretty much free jobbie :)
When I got it the central locking worked both on key and the fob...after a couple of days, it just stopped working and hasnt worked since on the fob or the key...fob has new batteries and the light comes on...but as the key doesnt set the central locking I assume its a central locking issue rather than fob anyway...
So any thoughts, central locking ECU, motor in drivers door, or maybe something else??
Any advise appreciated :y

have you syncronized the key?

Hey Bully Boy ;D ;D ;D
I would try putting the key into the ignition and press the buttons (which I know you know how to do) see if this cures the problem :y
Or have I said something wrong??? :P
Oh Tunnie I am on your side stuff the old timer ;D ;D ;D

Will check the fuses...never thought of that doh! lol :y
Seat heating works though...courtesy lights a bit iffy...worth a check anyway :y

I believe thats the first thing I tried...I reckon it would work on the key though even if not synchrinised with the fob??

Chris, most likely drivers door motor, it's not triggering from the remote lock/unlock therefore not kicking the other motors in either.

I have a spare one of those in the garage that I know works but its from a 98...will it be the same as the 95 model do you think??

Definitely not the same key type, 95 send via infrared, but 98 is radio frequency type. Resync yor key everytime replace a batteries is the most forgotten issue.

But the actual motor in the door is likely to be the same.
Chris's problems seem to lie in the locking mechanism or central locking module because if you read his original post the car doesn't centrally lock even using the olde fashioned method of putting the key into the lock. It's nothing to do wit re-sync'ing keys or batteries in the keys. :y

You are probably using the key to unlock/lock the door, if checking the fuse and that is ok, then it seems the solenoid on the drivers door is the issue.
Does the central locking work on the boot lock when you use the key? (never used my boot key but am assuming works the same as my carlston CDi did.

And the winner is...fuse 20 had blown...good call :y
Now Ineed to find out why as the replacement blew too...30a fuse is holding ok but not good and just masking the problem...
The fuse sparks as you put it in so presumably bad earthing somewhere, my thought is the courtesy light area as the previous owner has wired in a flip switch in there to operate the sunroof...will have to look in the morning...

And sorted the fuse issues now so its back on a 20A fuse...someone had wired an on off switch in place of the dial for the sunroof which was shorting a little and causing sparks at the fuse...disconnected the bodge job and its all working fine again now, no blowing fuse...
I would bet money on the sunroof having stopped after a battery change and this was done to 'fix' the failed sunroof, rather than just resetting it :)
