i have just brought a 1995 vauxhall omega 2 litre . when pulling away i get a message come up on the digital display saying automatic gearbox check and goes into limp mode. also the engine managment light comes on as does the airbag and abs light.
also when you turn the lights on i get the main beam light on as well as front fog lights and right hand indecator light. any suggestions would be appreciated

Seems like you need a code reader on your car, the paper clip test will only give you engine faults. Code reader will be able to give ABS, gearbox & airbag faults.
Not sure about the front fogs, but the main beam & indicator fault could be a faulty indicator stalk. :-/ :y

i did a paper clip test and the light just flashed 10 times!

Check the order of them, it will stop then start (but quickly)
eg, 3 flashes followed by a short pause and 2 more flashes would give a code 32
