Guys ! Need your help..REALLY hope this is a simple fix.
Got a lovely 200 Elite today so haven't had much time with her BUT...
I noticed the right hand stork ran the wipers fine BUT the end triggers for the computer were missing. Someone had installed the wrong stork and although it had the intermittant wheel...it did nothing...
SO..tonight I swapped it for my 1998 CD stock which seems to be the right one. Wipers work so does the intermittant wipe but it didn't change the on screen computer thing, mpg/constumption, 0-60 etc.
The question at last : Do I need to reset something on the car to get the storks buttons to work the computer. Is there a trick, a rest or anything or should I assume that the computer is fooked.

Steering wheel controls?
My 2001/2 Elite estate does not have the actuator buttons on the wiper stalk, but done from the steering wheel controls....

Hmmmmmmm...I should add that the "built in" Tape/Radio" has been removed and has now got an aftermarket Radio/CD player.
I WAS going to plonk in a new SonyXplod Bluetooth player.
Is that any reason for the computer not to work from the stork I've fitted ??

Does it have an ncdc nav system....if so the bc is controlled via the radio

Thats going to loose your Bose sound.
Personally i would source a genuine headunit back in (waits for crys of pain from DaveDND)
Do you still have the Bose Amp in the boot? (big black tray under neath the parcel shelf in boot)

She hasn't got SatNav.
In the boot there IS a long tray thing BUT its empty.
Loads of wires, I think with a plug on the end which seems to be loose inside the big box thing.
Have I been short changed and am i buggered regarding the compter controls. ?

sounds like someone has ripped out the Bose, worth checking if the speakers have been changed too as they are a different type, and normal headunits don't power them so well.
Stalk should control the MID (fuel/stopwatch/temp/range) ect

Even if the radio has been removed ??
The speakers SEEM to be the geniune BOSE.
To be truthfull I don't really mind the stereo being different, especially as I need the Sony Bluetooth fitted for work purposes BUT I really DO want the Computer to be working correctly..but after the quick switch over tonight...it doesn't...hence i was wondering if something needs resetting somewhere and somehow.

The speaker grills may say Bose, but depends whats behind the grill.
I have an Alpine headunit in mine, stalk controls still work fine ;)

Good point tunnie..but the sound is ok to be honest..I'm too old to go "head banging" in my car..PLUS country music doesn't really "do it".
So ! IF the radio controls have nothing to do with the upper half of the mid....how SHOULD I be able to change through the various computer options.

standard wiper stalk you get on most Omegas, be the same as in your last one. You said you swapped it over? Should work fine...

okey dokey. Its about 1.5 inches deep x 4 inches wide and displays in orange.
Currently it sais top left " 13o'c
top right it has the time.
Middle it has the date.
Under that a long Orange line and under that "BOSE"
I've been click steering wheel buttons AND the relocated stork buttons and the display won't change.
Is it possible that a stork from a 1998 CD won't control the display in a 2000 Elite. ? Could that be the answer guys ?

Ok, its a GID.....so it did have an NCDC and you cant do anything with a stalk.

I'd happily swap a MID for a GID ::)
But not sure the stalk wiring is in place :-/

It means that it is a 'Graphic Information Display'. The NCDC satellite navigation systems use a different display to lesser Omegas (either GID or CID 'Colour Information Display')
You either need another NCDC system to drive the graphics display OR you need to fit a normal MID character display BUT you will need to get the replacement MID coded for your car and the wiring might not be present to connect the display to the stalk.

Need to check wiring diags to see if a standard MID can be added. If it can, I can program up a MID for you in return for your lovely GID ;)

But how could it have ever had a Navigation system..there is no where in the dash for it to go ?
So are you suggesting that at somepoint the cars been mucked about with...baring in mind the AMP seems to have gone also.

The GID is the Sat Nav display ;)

Can I ask this...Will the display I've got warn me if anything is wrong, such as oil low, brakes bad, washer or coolant low etc etc

Yes. But you can't acknowledge it. So for eg, if washer fluid is low, you can't get rid of message (except by topping up).

i have 2015, same as your old 2013 but with phone unit(telematics)in the glove box. It also has rain sensing wipers. Point being, there is no need for ANY buttons on the wiper stalk with that equipment. All head unit functions are handled by stearing wheels controles ,on mine at least.
I'm not familiar enough with the model years to say how yours should work but with that head unit. Should be the same? Stearing wheel controles should operate the computer still i would think?

Well..as mentioned, I can't flip through any of the computers functions....not from the steering wheel OR the stalk.
NOT the end of the world BUT as I can on my 1998 CD, twas hoping I could on the 2000 Elite also.

waw thats annoying, that whole system....change one thing and your basically buggered then....?

Duggs - as per PM, options:
1) replace aftermarket with NCDC201x (may have some difficult coding issues, but resolvable)
2) replace display with MID - think wiring all in place, but not 100% certain - a bit of a suck-it-and-see is easiest way to tell
3) leave as-is, with display being uncontrollable.

Pretty sure you can swap the GID for a MID and the display will work (MID and GID wiring virtually the same apart from CAN implementation and a couple of other lines from what I can tell).
Two issues that need looking at first though are:-
1) Is the wiring for the earlier stalk present under the column shouds?
2) Are the speakers original BOSE units (ie 2 Ohm stamped on the back of them)
If answer is NO to 1) then that'll be a problem to go to MID etc
If answer is YES to 2) then they'll all need changing to go to standard HU / MID etc - I'll buy them off you!

From memory, the stalk wires are not present.

I did the swap the other way arround e.g MID to GID to CID. There are only a couple of wires that need swapping on the 32 way connector to convert back to MID spec. Then it'll be a case of pulling the stalk connector from a scrapper
I'd also be interested in the speakers if they're genuine Bose but it looks like I'm 2nd in the queue :(

When I plonked the 1998 CD stalk into the 2000 Elite, it looked like all the wires on the connectors were present..it got the intermittant wipe working anyway.
Once I get the brakes and cambelt sorted AND the breather system which, at 75k doesn;t appear to have ever been done, I think I'll take up the recent offer of a MID unit from Jamie to see if it works.
