can anybody tell me if there is a fix for intermittent abs/traction control lights.sometimes they come on,sometimes off,but more on than off!!! [smiley=angry.gif]

Have your brake wear sensors checked or changed. If this does not solve the issue, then you might have a problem with your ABS ECU.
First point of call would be to try to clean the brake wear sensor and see if it cures the problem :y
By the way, Hello and welcome to the Forum. Pop in to the Newbies section and say Hi ;)

Sod all to do with wear sensors. More like your suggestion of ABS ECU, which is a common issue with 98 onward cars :y

Was just a suggestion as this would be cheaper than having the ABS ECU replaced or sent for reman ;) :y

Lots of things would be cheaper than sending it to BBA repair ... but would they be relevant to the ABS ECU???? :y :y :y :y :y

You're right Andy, wouldn't be relevant. We'll stick to the culprit being the ABS ECU then ;) :P

Agreed likely nackered abs ecu. Either replace with good 2nd hand one (~ £45 -£55 from a breaker on here) preferably from exact year/model as yours (no Tech2 work needed then) or send yours off to say BBA for repair (~£130 )
You will probably find your speedo will also pack up, no cruise control and you will lose some power assistance on the steering.
Bu**er of a job to swap - limited space and can't see 3 of the 6 fixing bolts!!
Nothing to do with brake wear sensors - they just sense lack of brake pad thickness!!
