Title: warning light on dash

i picked up my new pride and joy on saturday afternoon. had to work sunday. but on the way home sunday, the garbox light came up on the dash. can anyone tll me if this is a serious problem. the car had sat on a garage forecourt for 6 months before i bought it....

seems to be a few 2.2 gearbox probs at mo,as said before in previous posts update yer profile as to which area you live in and its possible somebody close could offer their help

Did it come up Gearbox on the display or just the little picture of a car with a spanner across it?

Need to get codes read and 2.2 can't be paper clipped or pedal tricked.

Could be hundred and one things really.

What symptons is the car showing? :y

Did you get a warranty with the car?  If so, the dealer would be my first port of call.
