seen some posts regarding of removing the egr and blanking it off ?????? some questions

1, does my 99 mini facelift 3.0 V6 have 1
2, is it easy to remove and blank off
3, what benefits/non benefits on having it or removing it

Yours will have one but you can't remove it but you can blank it off ;)

does it benefit the car in anyway by blanking it off or not

EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) feeds some exhaust back into the inlet manifold under certain running conditions. I think it is to reduce nitrous oxides (NOx) which form at the elevated temperatures that occur during lean burning cruise conditions.

If it is working as intended then it isn't doing any harm. If you are having random poor starting or stalling problems then it might be cheaper to blank it off than to replace it.

The 2.6/3.2 don't have it but that might be because they have 4 catalytic converters (2 each side)

if you blank it off , eml  will light up.

if you do this, no eml light..

Blanking it off is usually done by fitting a blanking plate (sometimes made from something like an old coke can) between the valve body and the part whiich runs down to the manifold. :y

Nice work Alenalper, if one wants to remove the thing completely, that looks like the way forward.

I wouldn't want to remove or blank it off personally.
As well as the emissions side of things; surely having EGR gasflow improves closed-loop economy by reducing pumping losses?

Lower compression ratio and slightly more controlled ignition and hence lower cylinder temps resulting in lower NOx without EGR  :y
