I have a 2001 2.6 CD, how do I know whether or not I have cruise control, as I'm not sure the car has it.
Sorry for the duh question!
thanks!

Have you got 3 buttons on the end of your indicator stalk?
-
hmm, lemme check.
-
no buttons :(

No then. You need to get a cruise stalk (best new from VX on a trade club card), fit it then get yourself to http://theboy.omegaowners.com and contact your closest tech2 guy to enable it ;) :y

Hey may be able to plug & play. I bought mine, swapped the stalks & had instant cruise. Doesn't work for everyone though.

Thank you sir!

Plug and play on the diesels I was told, not so on the petrol, well on my 2.2 anyway.
Most simple mod I have done to my TD.

2.2 petrol will need tech2 enable...

Sorry was replying to Mikes post above, quite right, OP has 2.6. Again that will need tech2, its only the diesels where they work straight away 2.5TD at least, not sure on 2.2 derv

When I had my 2.2 fitted-as stated-needed tech2, but also highly recommend if doing this to also update ECU and 'box software AT SAME TIME.
I went back to update this AFTER my cruise was enabled-cheaper if done together.
The ECU/'box update modified the crazy flat-out acceleration on resume to a nice gentle build up back to resume speed and also made the cahnges smoother.
TIP-get software updates done at same time as enabling, while you are hooked up to the tech2 :y
Mine cost £32+vat at VX main dealers-basically half an hour of labour.

To clarify the tech2 bit:
2.2 petrol, 2.6,3.2 WILL need chat with Tech2. No ifs/buts.
others (inc the 2.2dti it would appear), no tech2 needed
