Post by: dubford on 22 November 2009, 01:03:22
hi guys

had a prob with my omega for a wile when i boot it it leaks oil from the join between the box and the engine. so with changing the rocker cover gaskets thinking it was that im still no better off . But ..... a few days ago the car started to "clutch slip"( yes i know a auto doesnt have a clutch) to the best of my discription. Now its got to the point where it doesnt even drive it just revs up and crals(2mph) . ive sort of come to the conclusion that my rear main oil seal has gone as of the first prob.... the oil .......but.....

do you guys think the oil has oppsed the talk converter

any ideas or help on  this would be great and pls tell me if im completly barking up the wrong tree!!!

Sure its engine oil?  I'd check atf level first in autobox as symptoms are those of low atf!   Remove rubber plug at bottom of gearbox bell housing and feel with your finger for atf fluid here - it should be dry!If not your leak could be due to nackered front seal on g/box input shaft - remove torque convertor (once gearbox out!!!) to see - three bolts hold it in.
