Title: Security wheel bolts
Post by: bp_porcaro on 26 November 2009, 12:34:10
(http://picasaweb.google.com/brianpeelpicasa/VauxhallOmega#5408388661452877714)

My newly aquired Omega 2.5td GLS estate has got these nuts (in picture) holding on the centre wheel hubs.

I have searched the car and cannot find the socket to release ??

The previous owner only had the car a short while and cannot recall seeing this item.

Any help please !! :)

Some good snipe nose pliers should aid removal (assuming some monkey has not over tightened them)

Cheers,

Is it an actual full wheel bolt that holds the wheel on, or just a secondary bolt just for the centre hub?

Its just a secondary bolt that holds the cover on, the wheel bolts are MUCH bigger  :y

Many thanks for such a quick reply  :y

All sorted....

Gave it a spray of WD40, then with some long nose pliers got them off.

I will replace them with some silver M8 cap heads (allen key)

Cheers again.

The proper tool for them can be purchased from Vauxhall..cheap as chips.
