not really when it costs me sub £10 to do an oil change on mine with GM oil and filter.

Do it yourself with the parts on TC  :y

Don't belive the marketing bull on castrol, its hard to beat the value and performance of GM Semi Synth, castrol creates a lot of mayo on the v6

7 Litres of Magnatex will cost you more than the quote you have are you sure it covers materials

I agree - DIY ......

20L of oil will set you back £37 and a filter is less than £2 with TC prices. A new sump washer is a few pence too.

That works out at less than £14 in parts for the change using proper Vx parts throughout.

I wonder if they are really using branded oil - or just the cheapest sh1t then can get hold of from a bulk tank?  ::)

Better to DIY with GM oil, if possible, IMHO. Avoids some gibbon overtightening your oil filter or stripping your sump plug too. ;)

The Castrol GTX will be fine, it's just that the GM stuff is regarded on here as better and cheaper.

If you can't change the oil yourself and/or haven't got a Trade Club card you're much better getting the oil changed than not.

£28 seems a bargain but plausible. You just risk an overtighten sump plug and oil filter - but frankly you risk that at lots of garages etc.

If you update your profile with where you live maybe someone close by with a TC may help you get some GM oil the 4 for 3 price on a trade card is excellent value  :y
