Title: HID adjuster arm
Post by: Omegadoha, Desert Member on 03 December 2009, 17:26:17
Had new shock absorbers fitted today, while the wheel was off I noticed that the HID adjuster arm was lying flat on the wishbone disconnected. I'm sure its been like that for a while but I am pondering how come I've never had a warning come on? I'm assuming this explains why my lights never seem to adjust.

I would guess it is because the whole mechanism is stuck in a position that means the warning has not transpired ;)

OR maybe the wiring has been disconected/shorted. ;)

depends how its broken, if the ball has come out of the socket, you should get the warning on the display. If the arm only has broken off and the ball is still in the socket, i guess you,ll not know of the problem.  :-/

I'll try and have a closer look at it when I get the link rods done again. I'm not even sure the HID sensor was intact. (My shocks were so shot, it resulted in the rod becoming bent.)

Self levelling lights are not a legal requirement here. I've previously passed the car with shot wishbone bushes, busted link rods, shot shocks and worn out track rods and tyres. But obviously I am very responsible and getting these items attended to.  ;D
