Title: What sizes will fit std alloys?
Post by: Vulpine on 06 December 2009, 18:23:56
Hi All
Wanting to go up a width or two on my std 15" Vx alloys. They currently have 205/65/15s.
Can any one say if 225/60/15s will fit safely on the rims?   ;D

i think the saying is 2 sizes up / 1 down  :y

will have to stick too 65 section tyres though on 15 inch wheels  :y

think your looking at 225 / 65 /15 max  :y

thanks for the answer but why do i need to stick to 65 profile?
i was hoping to use 225 / 60 /15 as they are almost the same diameter.

diameter of the tyre will be out ( smaller)

it will make your speedo / ode meter reading wrong  :(

15" tyres is 65
16" --"--     55
17" --"--     45     ect  :y

oh i thought 60,65,75 etc was the height ratio or profile factor (eg % of width) and can be anything on an size if the wheel is design to take it?  :-/
