Hi
I have just purchased a 2003 2.6 V6 Automatic Omega on 73,000mls and it has a couple of problems - which i knew about before i bought it.
The main one i need help with is that there doesn't seem to be any heat coming from the drivers side vents in any mode, but heat does come from the passenger and rear vents. Any clues? I thought it may just be a tube come off somewhere or possibly duff heater matrix.
You thoughts would be most welcome...
Cheers

The temperature blend flap control arm has popped off.
See here for details:

The guide describes a fair bit of disassembly but, you can often just about get your fingers in and pop the arm back on

Thanks very much, thats my job for Saturday then! nHope it's that simple, knowing my luck at the mo it's gonna be something far more dramatic that costs me a fortune haha

Hi
Ok i have followed the instructions, had 2 attempts at it in case i was doing something wrong but i've definitely done them correctly.
When i change the temp from hot to cold n back, the arm moves as it should, it is definitely connected to the back of the motor and always was.
Any idea what else it could be? Winter is here and my side of the car is freezin :-(
Thanks
Dan

Have you tried resetting it by pressing the auto and off buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds :y.
-
I haven't managed to get this to work, maybe been a bit impatient before (mi fingers were frozen ;-) so will try again and wait the full 10 seconds.
i was wondering, does this lever on the back of the motor in the footwell, turn the motor on?
or (and more likely) does the motor move the lever to open something like a flap higher up in the dashboard? I'm wondering if what the lever is moving is stuck perhaps?
sorry, not had the dashboard in bits yet but that'll be next.
thanks for the advice, much appreciated!

Get the wife to drive, that way you can sit on the warm side ;) ;D
Where are you Dan? Maybe someone is close by :y

haha, she doesn't like it, too big...ooer
well i've tried resetting on my way to work. tried all sorts of combinations of button pressing with the auto and off buttons but it didn't seem to do anything at all. listened carefully for changes in air flow, servo movement, anything at all...but nothing :-(
i'm in farnborough in hampshire. took 15 mins for my screen to demist today on the drivers side, i wish it was left hand drive haha

ok did more work on this today, still cannot get the unit to reset. any clues? im assuming resetting it i should hear a change of somesort, fan speed, servos moving etc? does the display change at all? go off maybe?
-
I'm only just up the road. Perhaps a chat with a tech 2 would reveal what the climate control is struggling with?
I am often in the Farnborough area too. :y
Just to confirm.. heating on the passenger side works ok?
Does the driver's side heat even if you turn the temperature control right up to "Hi"?

Hi, thanks for that.
No the drivers side gets no heat at all in any mode through any vent. absolutely nothing changes now matter what you do with the dial :-(
i don't mind the cold, its the half demisted windscreen thats most annoying. i wouldn't mind if it was the other way around ;-)
i take it the tech2 is a diagnostic tool?? how much would it cost to have someone plug one of these in?
thanks
Dan
