Title: screen wash jets
Post by: pembroke on 10 December 2009, 08:33:14
I decided to take a pin to the holes in my screen wash jets only to find that the right side jet was pushed down. It's like someone hit it with a hammer and it's now flush with the engine bay. This begs the question of where the water from that jet is now going and how do I shove the jet back up?? Help please!

looks like you will have to replace it, they are heated jet washers and if it has been stuck like you said the heater inside has prob gone, dont cost alot at scrapy or there is a pair on e-bays, :y

No you don't.

The jets simply push back up, remember facelifts have the jets in the scuttle, not the bonnet.

Pem - Feel underneath the scuttle, you should be able to push it up. Padding underneath is in the way, pop the scuttle off and push the jet back through. If needs be use a tiny dab of superglue (or araldite) around edge with the scuttle.

My jet fell down shortly after i first got it, pushed it up, and its been fine ever since

Once you get the jet up, you should be able to prod it with a pin/needle to clear it up a bit. I cleaned mine with a neddle and they have been fine since.

Lack of or reduced water at the jets can also be due to a clogged up filter in the washer bottle. Pull the pump from the bottle & the grommet that it sits in is also a filter. Remove it, clean the gunge & refit!  :y
