Title: 4 Wheel Alignment
Post by: addy on 30 November 2009, 09:09:45
Can anyone recommend a place near to Derbyshire for wheel alignment?  I am due to have the wishbones done, unfortunately I am a private carer and am on call 24/7 so cannot get to wheels in motion.  I have found this site. http://www.alignmycar.co.uk/.  There is a company near me
Wingerworth Tyres Ltd
Wingerworth Service Station
Derby Road
CHESTERFIELD
S42 6NB

The garage that is doing the wishbones said they are good.  Is there anything that I have to be aware of with the car being old, camber etc?

Thanks in advance for your replies.

I recommend fleet fit tyres in Loughborough and they use the WIM settings

had my 4 wheel alignment done £89.
the car now pulls to the left it gives me arm ache to keep it straight!!
this happens on motorways dual carrigeways b roads.
I know there is a camber on the road but is this right?????????

I'd take it back to wherever you went. It sounds like they need to adjust the front subframe. I've just got back from WIM this evening.  I usually go locally but I had a feeling the subframe would need adjustment to sort it and none of the local have done that, so I made the 400 mile round trip. Mine was pulling to the left, so they tweaked the subframe.
This may sound daft, but as a short term fix, try raising the steering wheel. I adjusted mine down for a more relaxed position on the drive back and it started pulling to the left.
I moved it back and it stopped again.  :-?
PM your e-mail address and I'll mail you the print out. The Target Details may be of use to your Geo folk to double check they've got their WIM settings correct.
